Welcome to the public side of the Total Improv Festival — a celebration of creativity, community, and spontaneous art across Lourinhã and Areia Branca.

Whether you're a curious local, a festival explorer, or a family looking for inspiration — Playground is for you.

The Festival Without
  • Street theatre, clowning, and site-specific performances
  • Live music, bsp;sound walks, and spontaneous jam sessions
  • Interactive art installations and#nvisual improvisations
  • Movement, dance, and body-in-space happenings
  • Creative zones for children and teens
  • Pop-up poetry, public rituals, and participatory actions
All events are improvised, playful, and open-ended. You might find a brass band on the bike path, a voice duet in a library, or a group of kids painting the street with chalk. Anything is possible.
Playground is the open program of the festival — entirely free and open to all.

  • Activities begin late morning 12.00
  • Peak performances in the afternoon and early evening
  • Evening jam sessions & open stages in bars and on the beach
  • Family-friendly events throughout the day
